The laminate wrap over tung oil really seemed to "seal up" the shell, giving this drum unbelievable body and projection. Amazingly, edge or rim shots bring to mind a steel shell in brightness and "cut" - we thought about naming this one "The Rock", just for the sheer hard, edgy tone it projects.
