DESCRIPTION
        The future of Huston Drums has arrived with this Hottfest 2006 kit! We spent many months getting it ready for the show, and our efforts proved to be worthwhile - rave reviews greeted us after virtually every performance. Sound-wise, "warm and buttery" are two words that spring to mind immediately to describe the tone of these babies, but that's just the beginning. Compared to ply shells of comparable size and thickness, these solid mahogany shells are so much more resonant that it's almost comical-even with the relatively dry Fiberskyn heads the 16 tom "sings" for 10-12 seconds after the initial hit. We experimented with die cast hoops and the drums were full of tone, but the maple hoops add a ridiculous level of warmth, depth, and sheer musicality. I could go on and on, but let me just say that you truly "owe it to yourself" to try one of our solid-shell wood hoop kits, especially if you're a fan of "vintage" drums and drum tones. Let Huston Drums take you "back to the present"!
